I am very interested in the Japanese culture and language. I have made a long solo trip to Japan just after graduation and I fell in love with this country. As I wanted to have a long-term experience in Japan, I applied as a PhD student at Hokkaido University where I could join my two passions, marine mammals and learning a new culture and language. As a language learner myself, I know how it can be difficult to stay motivated to learn a language and how important it is to have native people to talk with. To me it is important to understand the language to understand a culture and I want to share my culture with Japanese people and learn their culture from them.
Hello, I am Swiss international student. As I am in Japan because I want to learn a new culture, I hope to be able to have cultural exchange with you. Also, I have both the experience of a teacher and a language learner, so I can understand the difficulties you may face. I wish to help you learning a new language and feel comfortable and motivated in your learning. Teaching is an exchange between the teacher and the student.
I want my students to feel confortable with me, that they will feel safe to let me know any difficulties or concerns they may have, and ask all the questions they want. I think that learning a language should stay a fun activity even during hard time. Let's work together to learn languages.
If you have a prefered text book, feel free to bring it the class and we will work with your book. Otherwise, I will provide the necessary materials for the class.
Since I began high school, I have been working as a tutor for children from elementary school to high school. I have tutored children for several subjects including languages as well as mathematics and sciences.
After my university studies, I have worked for one year as a surrogate teacher at the junior high level. During that year, I had a six-months experience of teaching German to students from a beginner to intermediate level, and two-months experience of teaching different subjects to non-native speakers.
